Folk Art Coleection of Victoria Colella

Definition: Art originating amoung the common people of a nation or region and usually reflecting their traditional culture.

I began to create my Folk Art collection in 1998 after moving my art studio to Sausalito, California. Coming from the cool, foggy, financial center of San Francisco to the warmth and color of Southern Marin County signaled not only a shift in life style, but also a shift in my artistic expression. Using gouache medium on black masonite, my images are rich with color and optimism portraying our culture at it's best.
